Why This Recipe Works
- It’s quick — ready in under 25 minutes
- Packed with rich, restaurant-style flavour
- Only uses two sauces from the gift set
- Easy to customise with your preferred protein or veg
- Brings that iconic Chinese-style stir-fry taste home
Ingredients (Serves 2–3)
From the Essential Asian Cooking Sauces Gift Set:
- 2–3 tbsp Lee Kum Kee Black Bean Garlic Sauce
- 1–2 tsp Kikkoman Toasted Sesame Oil
Fresh ingredients:
- 250g sliced beef (e.g. rump or sirloin)
- 150g tenderstem or standard broccoli, chopped into bite-size pieces
- 1 tbsp oil for cooking (vegetable or sunflower)
- Cooked rice or noodles, to serve

Method
- Sear the beef: Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large frying pan or wok over high heat. Add the sliced beef and sear for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Cook the broccoli: In the same pan, add a splash of water and the broccoli. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until it turns bright green and starts to soften, but still has some crunch.
- Bring it all together: Return the beef to the pan. Add 2–3 tbsp of Black Bean Garlic Sauce and a drizzle of Sesame Oil. Toss everything together for 1–2 minutes until glossy and well-coated.
- Serve: Dish up immediately over rice or noodles. Spoon over any sauce from the pan — it’s too good to waste!

Tips & Variations
- Want a bit of heat? Add a spoonful of Lao Gan Ma Crispy Chilli in Oil as a topping.
- Swap beef for chicken, prawns, or tofu for a lighter or veggie version.
- Try adding mushrooms, bell peppers, or sugar snap peas for more colour and crunch.
- For extra depth, marinate the beef in soy sauce for 15 minutes before cooking.
