What to cook first

Katsu curry

Panko, curry sauce and rice are all in the box. Add chicken or tofu and an onion. Fifteen minutes.

Miso soup

Dashi, miso, hot water. Two minutes, and it sits alongside anything else.

Udon or soba

Boil the noodles, dress with soy and sesame oil, finish with ichimi togarashi. Hot in winter, cold in summer.

We aim for at least two months from dispatch, usually longer. Pantry items like soy sauce and noodles often keep well past that.
Do they need to be able to cook?+
No. For example, katsu curry takes just fifteen minutes and needs no technique. The rest can wait until they're curious.
What else will they need?+
Most dishes require very little apart from optional protein or vegetables. For example, you may choose to add chicken, tofu or onion to the katsu curry. Nothing specialist, nothing from a specialist shop.
